Friends of the National Special Rescue Unit - Lehava
The Friends of the National Special Unit Foundation is dedicated to ensuring the National Special Rescue Unit has all the resources and support to operate at the highest level of effectiveness, innovation, and community support, ultimately saving more lives in times of crisis.
The Lehava unit is Israel's National Firefighting and Rescue unit situated under the Operations Department. The unit engages in a wide range of rescue activities, such as: Underwater search and rescue, Reinforced rescue, Swift Water rescue, Cave rescue, Surrounded Area rescue and more. Lately the unit started developing operational helicopter rescue capabilities in order to supply the best and most professional and effective response for citizens.
The unit specializes in search and rescue in extreme conditions, in Israel and abroad, including firefighting and rescue from rocket-hit sites, underground rescue, caving and more
